I am not sure if this is correct, but there appears to be a small hole in the top of the stamped steel cover on the driver side end of the transmission. I had never noticed this before but saw it tonight. My spare transmission has no such hole. Is this a vent and should it be there? Should I swap the covers and use one without a hole? What might the purpose of this be? It looks like it was drilled through the cover on purpose. Conor |

I will get a picture of this small hole soon. If it shouldn't be there, I will RTV a patch on it. Conor |

I couldn't find any reference or pictures of a hole in this location. I don't know if I did this by accident while working on the car as it looked pretty fresh but fluid was obviously coming out so I cleaned it up nice and covered it in a bad of ultra black RTV. Conor |
