I have searched high and low for these specifications and have come up dry: :deal

(Standard cam, not XFI)
Intake Opens BTDC (ATDC is -) : (in degrees)
Intake Closes ABDC : (in degrees)
Total lift:

Exhaust Opens BBDC : (in degrees)
Exhaust Closes ATDC (BTDC is -) : (in degrees)
Total lift:

Please list if the opening is measured at .050" lift or whatever.
If these are published specs please list the source. If they are observed/measured specs please say so.
Can anybody please help me out?

Got 70 MPG?

This is from my Crower Cams cam card. The top specs are for a stock cam, then the next ones are after it was ground down. Hope this helps you.

Hey starscream5000,
Thank you for the information! For some reason the manufacturers make this stuff really hard to find. In fact, after I read your post I went over to the Crower website and even with your part number I couldn't find any published information!
Thanks again!

Hey there Dave, you can find all of the cam specs in your "Haynes" manual, in the engine section, under the "specifications". I will look up this for you if you do not have a haynes manual. (i am in the house right now, but i will be headn out shortly.

I will look around, i keep one in each car, but i believe i have a third arouond, it;s yours. I am real close to picking up that supernice 92 that was at the meet w/ 78k original (?). Kevin had it for sale. wouldnt you know, just after gettn home i found a vert. it is so burried in a barn that the owner needs to wed to get it out for inspection. actually, he has had it for 4-5 years, just always said it would never be for sale. you know how that goes...decide to buy something else and the call comes through. guess i have a little time to sort through it, dont have to leave for ND till about the 20th. i'll keep one open for that other manual for ya, steve out

starscream5000 ,thats some excellent info to have! :thumb
Here are the service specs that I have :
Quote:

XFI Model
Standard camshaft lobe height is 39.628 to 39.788 mm
(1.5602 to 1.5665 inches).
Wear limit 39.528 (1.5562 inches).

Base and LSI Models
Standard camshaft lobe height is 40.415 to 40.575 mm
(1.5911 to 1.5974 inches).
Wear limit 40.315 mm (1.5872 inches).

I hope this helps you get to what your looking for. ^o)
Do not waste your money on a Haynes for this car. I have used them for many other cars with success, however on the Metro they punted pretty good. :shake
It is filled with mis-information. Do your self a favor and get a Factory Service Manual, commonly refereed to as a FSM. They can be found on eBay for around $25-$50. To put the difference in perspective, the Haynes manual is about 3/4" of an inch thick. It covers all years of Metros. The FSM for JUST my 1996 is two volumes and about 3" inches thick. :O
Think the Haynes might have left out some information? :ermm:
Hope it helps! :thumb

yea and for the avrage Joe the FSM also has 2 1/2 inches of information that just clouds the water. TOO MUCH INFORMATION.

the haynes manual is not designed to replace the FSM, but to be an easy to use referance for the "shadetree" mechanic.

it is like asking a yes/no question, and getting a full disertation. there are times i have spent more time diggn through the FSM, than the repair should take.

Thanks Stiffchezze,
I've got what I think is a factory manual (marked GMP/95-M) but it is a single volume about 2-1/4" thick. It did have those specs you sent though.

Just curious, what is the purpose of that crower cam? The numbers are practically identical to stock.

I see they also recommend a 106 degree intake centerline. Imagine that :hmm

I got it at the Geo meet for $40, so far it has helped me out quite a bit with gaining back my MPGs that I lost when I put on my taller, heavier tires, and then some.
I can only assume those numbers on the card are for this cam after it was ground down, I don't know for sure. It came with the cam.
I haven't put together the new motor with your head and "eco" cam yet, so I don't know how to two are going to compare to each other.
