OK so I jack up the car, remove the lug nuts and pull the wheel off, right? Well, not this time. I am trying to take the transmission out of this 95 Metro 3/5 to put in my 96 Metro 3/5 .and this wheel will NOT come off. I have beat it from the back side with a sledge hammer....nada! I need to get the trans in the 96 tomorrow (already removed the trans from it today). I have to work Tues. I have never had this happen before. I hope someone can help.

Kick it and hammer harder.

Got 70 MPG?

When I put my new wheels on at the beginning of this month I had the same problem with one wheel. A 3 pound hammer wouldn't budge it, and driving around erratically a few hundred feet down the road with the lug nuts loose didn't work either. I finally laid down on my back, under the car (it was supported), and kicked it with everything I had. That one did the trick :thumb

Squirt some pb blaster around the lugs and smack the tire from the outside with a lot of force. You will not hurt it if you hit the tire. Hit the rim and you will bend it.

Every time I rotate my tires,I put a dab of grease on back side of my wheels just so that doesn't happen.

Never had a problem with a metro rim getting stuck but have seen many tractor trailer rims stuck. If I can break them loose, I really cant see a metro rim being a problem.

Thanks Scoobs I haven't tried that...yet. I did drop it down from the jack real fast a couple of times. Yeah Blue Rhino I never imaged having a problem removing a wheel even with old VW's that have sat for years they would come off without too much trouble.

Lugnuts on hand tight, drive around the yard, try and remove it again? I'd be hesitant to have them too loose, but not tightened.

I tried that on my street, even jerked the e-brake a few times (it was a rear wheel obviously). Didn't work for me, but it could have loosened it a bit for when I basically stomped it off.

loosen but don't remove the lug nuts and lower the jack as fast as possible.

The front wheels often get stuck after axles have been pounded out with a sledge. The hub gets mushroomed and then the wheel does not fit. An impact gun on the lugnuts presses it on, but have fun getting it back off...
