had a stuck rim one time--loosened lugs one turn. drove about 10 MPH. steered left right left right quickly--loosened up quite soon.

At work we just soak it with pb blaster, kick it, rotate 90 degrees, kick again. After 360 degrees, soak it with blaster again. Only had two or three tires that haven't come loose doing this.

loop some chain through the holes in the rim and tie the other end to an anvil and throw it off a cliff. make sure to hold onto the anvil.

OK so I jack up the car, remove the lug nuts and pull the wheel off, right? Well, not this time. I am trying to take the transmission out of this 95 Metro 3/5 to put in my 96 Metro 3/5 .and this wheel will NOT come off. I have beat it from the back side with a sledge hammer....nada! I need to get the trans in the 96 tomorrow (already removed the trans from it today). I have to work Tues. I have never had this happen before. I hope someone can help.
You can remove the trans without removing the tires

When I put my new wheels on at the beginning of this month I had the same problem with one wheel. A 3 pound hammer wouldn't budge it, and driving around erratically a few hundred feet down the road with the lug nuts loose didn't work either. I finally laid down on my back, under the car (it was supported), and kicked it with everything I had. That one did the trick :thumb
This, plus I had to use a three jaw puller. Now whenever I have a wheel off I coat the backside with anti-seize.

#1: even with the car on stands, PLEASE do not get under a suspended load and then wabble it. PLEASE.

#2: you can drive a wedge, or a pry bar through the slots in the rim. use a BFH, and drive a second in on the otherside of
the rim, that is 180 deg of the first. this WILL pop the rim off. it helps to drive one from left to right and the other from right to left.
try to do it evenly, as it will be harder if it gets cocked, but it will still come off.

#3: Rick, poorman, is right, and if you do not have a tourch or sawzall, just disconect the knuckle and slide it off the shaft. (wheel and all)

hpoe this helps and your on the road on time. steve

Got to do some housework first (single parent of 7). Then I'm going to try again. Thanks for your suggestions. This forum is the best. I was able to follow Johnny Mullet's pinned transmission removal guide and got the trans out of my 96 without a problem. Y'all are great!

Sometimes what would help for me is using my propane torch and careful not to get to close to the tire and heating up the rim then beat it with a rubber mallet that helped me a few times. ^o)

Well I have given up for now even if I got it off I don't have time to get the trans out and into the 96. I've tried everything but the torch and driving with the lug nuts loose. I have to get us ready for work, school and a football game. I think I'll just buy a trans to go in the 96 anybody got one?

Got 70 MPG?

So you just unbolted the cv axle nut and removed the wheel and hub assembly together?

Loosen the lug nuts 1-2 turns. Lower the car if it is on jack stands. Rock the car side to side until you feel the "break" of rusty parts. That should loosen up the wheel. Raise the car. Remove the wheel. I do this all the time and it is the safest and most effective method to do it.
