I own a 1996 Metro 4cyl 5spd when I turn left, (hard left) and I'm in second gear the transmission pops out of gear. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem or knows how to fix it or cause of this problem? |

I am not well versed on the inner workings of these trannies, but if it were me, I would check the shift linkage. If that checked out ok, I would grab another tranny from pick n pull for a hundred bucks. Only takes a few hours. |

Actually the previous owner changed the transmission out before but he said he had this problem with the previous transmission too. |

Sounds like something is going on with the shift linkage. You could disconnect the linkage from the tranny and put it in second by hand. Test drive it around and if it stays engaged, you would have it narrowed down to the linkage. |

It's possible one or more of your mounts are bad or your frame is flexing and causing your linkage to pull. |
