What is the bigger black switch looking thing that screws on the throttle on the firewall side of the engine, and has a gray plug connected to it, and it looks like it might move when the accelerator cable moves. |

This part is about 4 inches long and about 2 1/2 inches high, has 5 wires going to it and has some kind of switch that only moves in and out aproximately 1/2 inch or so. If this is the tps then what is its function? |

so this more than likely wont have anything to do with my no fuel delivery t the throttle body no matter which part it is. |

No. Turn the key to the on position, you should hear the fuel pump prime for 2 seconds. If yes, remove the fuel hose going to the throttle body and put it in a jug, and once again turn the key. If the jug fills up with gas, you're at least getting fuel. If no hearing the pump at all, you can be looking at a relay, wiring, or the pump itself. If the pump kicks on but no fuel gets to the throttle body, you have either a clogged line, or more likely a clogged fuel filter. |

That must be the idle control solenoid/motor/relay. It will push the throttle open to increase idle speed such as when the A/C is on, to increase the idle/engine speed to aid in shifting, or to increase idle for engine warm-up. No to sure if there is way to test it for perfect operation. I suppose it either works or it don't. I leave mine disconnected (not recommended for the average person). |

I don't have the schematics for that specific relay, but you take the relay out and provide a ground and a 12volt (always a good idea to put the correct amp fuse in your power leg) power to the correct pins. That will close the relay of the other two pins, then you check continuity across the pins. You just need to know what the wire color coding is. This however is not with out fault, because sometimes relays are intermittent. In example they don't close only after they warm up. A lot of system have two relays for the fuel pump, or a double relay, one to prime, and one in run. |
