I've always used dino conventional oil, but recently considered synthetic. I hear for an older engine that synthetic may leak out the seals as dino oil swells the seals if I understand correctly. So would the 50-50 synthetic blend work on a Metro with over 100k or at least have a better chance than full synthetic? I see one brand loaded with zinc, Quaker blend I think. Anyone try synthetic blend? Thanks |

I use Napa branded full synthetic in my gasoline powered rigs ( it is Valvoline ). I use Cummins Blue in my Diesel. |

Mobile 1 full syn. High milage for me. Same price as the regular full syn. If it leaks, fix it!

Well, I'm giving it a try. I put Penzoil synthetic blend in it. It says it has at least 50% synthetic. |

castrol has served me faithfully in all my engines since the mid 50s---good enough for the past 60+ years==good enough for a few more

Castrol has been in my toyota truck for the entire 465,000 miles I have driven it. I hope I haven't damaged it. |

That is what I used. Worked fine for me. Will work just fine when I get around to getting another engine. BTW...when I started using synthetic oil in the Metro, I noticed that oil consumption actually went down. Noticed no increase in leakage. Both went opposite of what I was always told... |
