I have a differential gear on my 96 automatic Geo transmission that went out. I have just about pulled this transmission out of the vehicle but am going to need to replace it. I've been looking at the website car-parts.com for a replacement but have a few questions. 1. what identifiers let me know that the transmission I have is the same as the one being offered. 2. will another year/make/model match the transmission I have or were they all different per year? 3. what can I do to insure that the item I am purchasing matches? What I plan to do is take the transmission I remove to the place of purchase to see if they are visually the same. However, just because the outside matches does not mean it will be the same thing. Only that all the holes would line up. |

Any GEN3 automatic will be the same, that's 95-01 Metro/Swift. |
