OK, so I swapped transmissions in my g10 96 hatch. That went pretty well until I was putting the new transmission in and accidentally pulled the coolant pipe loose from the water pump. I stuch it back in and hoped for the best but when I added coolant it leaks from the water pump where the pipe comes in. What did I do and how do I fix it. TIA.

theres an o-ring on the end of that tube...when you pulled the pipe out, you disturbed that o-ring. maybe it fell off...maybe it broke....maybe its just time to get a new one...cheap and easy fix.

That was a very good post. My pipe was not bolted to anything. I guess when I yanked it loose I dislodged the O ring but I did not see it on the floor. I will try to get a better look tonight. Codoms huh?

there should be a single 10mm head bolt to secure the tube. without it vibration will surely ruin a new oring, and potential for leaks is HIGH.

Got 70 MPG?

1994 and down have only 1. Their pipe is shorter and straight.
1995 and up has the curved pipe like pictured above and they DO have 2 mounting points. :thumb

Yeah I have not removed it yet it probably has it on and wasn't bolted to the engine. However it wasn't leaking until i snagged it when installing the new trans. I'm off work tomorrow for youngest son's football game so I can spend the morning trying to fix this problem.
