Dear Group darn sure is not the alternator bearing.. but sounds like something is 'dry' .. absolutely no vibration, runs fine not sure how good the camshaft bearings are after 100K new oil seals.. no leaks.. noise is coming from the timing belt left side.. tensioner pulley bearing feels firm- no play any suggestions.. I guess I gotta get a stethoscope to find out what it is.. puzzeling ! |

Time to get that mechanics stethoscope (or use a large screwdriver as the poor man's version) and see if you can pinpoint the noise. Good Luck! |

Could be a loose crankshaft sprocket, that sounds like a rod bearing knock. Take the belts off of it to quickly eliminate the alternator + water pump as possibilities. You can run it for 30 seconds at a time that way. |
