Well I was gonna try to sneak one by but it's not gonna happen. The rod suffered a tiny bit of damage that keeps me from just putting on a new cap and bearings and going. It's ok though I'm pulling the head tomorrow and fixing it right. But still got to pinch my pennies. New bearings, got a good rod and piston from a wrecked metro, looks like it had just recently been rebuilt . I am ordering a head gasket from Apex as Geo Glenn recommended on the first Geo I rebuild last year winter time. Get some rod bearings, and find some rings. Run a ball hone through, hope the head is OK. Going to fix the crank #1 journal and hope for the best.

How are you planning to fix the #1 rod journal ? The engine will need to come out and the crank will have to be taken to a machine shop to fix it right. Ken..... |

I honestly think, your just going to have more problems very soon. Id pull the motor, and get everything out and get it done right, not just replace and stick together. |

This vehicle is not ment to be kept by me I am repairing it to sell it will turn out fine people around this area will give up their right nut and first born for a geo because gas is $4.25 and most drive and hour and a half to two hours one way to work in a Ford F350 4X4 So if it runs very well and they get away with only spending $500 a week for gas they are dancing in the streets |

So your fixing it half assed and going to resell it to someone where it will possibly Fail soon after? if im not mistaken Thats somthing a used car dealer would do just to make a quick sale, and possibly Screw someone else out of money. If your going to sell it fix it right, Dont be like the guy ewho uses foam spray and bondo to hide a failing frame, and risking peoples lives. What if they are on the freeway, and the rod decides to give out, and the car dies in the middle of the freeway, and then since they cant move the car fast enough they get rear ended? Whatever way you decide to go with it, hopefully you dont sell someone a lemon of a geo. Everyone on here hates seeing people get screwed buying a car, so why be one the Screw'ers. Fix it right, and be done with it. |

A properly repaired Metro will easily sell and for more money. Read that in a Chinese fortune cookie.
