91 metro xfi... It has excessive noise after 40 mph...lower speeds is ok... we rebuilt transmission with new clutch recently...I don't think its coming from transmission... where else this noise can come? could it come from engine or axle or wheels? how do I identify the source? |

What kind of noise is it? All we have to go on is you have some noise.... Road noise? bearing noise? metal on metal? clunking? |

I'm gunna guess bearings. When you're driving and you hear the noise: Swerve to the left a little bit. Did the noise go away? yes- bad left bearings. Swerve a little to the right. Did the noise go away? yes- bad right bearings. You should be able to hear whether it's coming from the front or back. |

Yea I had the same issue and changing the wheel bearings took care of it. |
