O.K. So we all have at one time or another rebuilt a Metro motor. My Question is this: What brand head gasket do you favor? The reason I ask is that I have seen disparaging remarks about the Evergreen gasket and also about my favorite, Fel-pro perma-torque blue. What says you guys?

These are what I use. Fel-Pro makes a good head gasket. The no blow head gasket has the fire rings connected like the OEM. Compressed thickness is ~0.057" v. ~0.050" for the OEM. This allows for a little bit of fly cutting on the mating surfaces without affecting the compression ratio.
