So I just used the plast guage on the rod cosles to the crank pulley and it looks to be fine, What if I do not get all the plastiguage out, will it disolve in the oil? Im thinking my knock is coming from the torque converter I just bought I checked out the Flex plate and I do not see any cracks in it at all? What do you guys think? Tommrow I will go through all the rod and main bearings with the plastiguage and see what they are and post it, but im pretty sure there is something wrong with my torque converter, I have a warrenty on it, and I paid $200 for it. Someone probally did not put it together right. Thanks.![]() Here I im measing it ![]() ![]() From the picture do you guys thing the bearing looks good? only has 8000 miles ![]() |

Use a soft rag and a little bit of Zippo lighter fluid or other mild solvent. The plasti-gage will wipe off. You don't want to run the engine with that stuff in there. The #1 rod bearing clearance looks a little under 0.002". It's within factory service limits. That one's good . . . |
