Clutch cable questions

So i got a new clutch cable when i had a clutch kit installed, but i can feel it binding when i depress the clutch so i am assuming the clutch cable is the culprit. Here are my questions

1. What brands have you used and not had any performance issues?

2. ATP, Centric and LuK are some brands im seeing but i have never heard of, except centric they make quiet a few things. Are these other brands good?

My foot is starting to hurt cause its hard to push down so looking to replace it very soon.

Recently replaced one, not sure what brand I got just ordered it through Advance auto. What I did notice though is that in the mean time I had used a spare cable from a 98 on a 94. The 98 cable was longer and to make it fit on the 94 that put sort of an "S" curve in it which translated to the clutch being fairly stiff but workable for the time it took to get the new one in. The correct clutch cable was pretty much a straight shot from the firewall to the cable bracket and moved very smooth. Is your cable the proper length, no bends curves or kinks in the cable housing? Was it brand new when installed or is it a used cable that could be worn?

No significant curves, but from the trans to the wall it will have to curve a little bit but its barely any curve at all. It was a brand new cable dorman to be exact from rockauto, advanced doesn't have one for the 96.

Clutch cable is now fixed. Omg is it nice to have an easy to push down clutch. I went to orileys and they had the cable in stock (holy crap!) and put it in and now its all gravy, even lubed it up before i installed it. The old cable ( was new just bad) seemed to work fine when i removed it. meh oh well its great now :D

Also the cable removes so easy. my 96 is just goes over the top of the clutch pedal and that's it. quiet simple. :D
