OH NO, did you catch the national news lasthight? it is BAD. bacon is going to be in short supply, due to the drought covering much of the country. they went so far as to suggest that bacon may be absent from some markets. the problem? lack of grain to feed the porkers! WAIT, hogs can eat poison ivy, why the heck are they being fed grain? oh, could this be another false shortage to drive up demand? Na, who would do something like that. we need more corn gas for our cars, dont worry about the food chain. anyway, I AM AN ADDICT, bacon freezes well, see ya at the grocery!

recomended not to exceed 2yrs, vaccuum pack to avoid freezer burn. market should adjust in one season, as suppliers adjust to new prices and demand. this past spring, the feeders we got went from 70 cents / lb, to $1.80. should have seen it comeing.

Hold your ham-hocks!!! Don't go freezing no friggin' bacon! What happens if your power goes out and you have to fry up all that rancid bacon for supper? Have I got your attention? My wife and I lived in Alaska for a couple of years in the early '80's and we did some camping while there. Back then we could buy canned bacon . That's right -bacon in a tin can and it was very good . No refrigeration, will last forever? Maybe? Anyway don't get nervous about this next part. It's a food product from Hungary. It was from Hungary back then too, and it is a very good product. It's called Celebrity Bacon and it's available on-line. I was looking for it about a year ago to stock some for food storage. Check it out .
