Hey everyone
My passenger side door belt mechanism keeps jamming up and I keep pulling on it but it wont roll out just stays stuck on the bottom and I can get the top of it to roll out some and then loop it around my belt clip!

Any ideas on how to fix it or should I just replace it, I have made sure its not getting a knot in it and I tried pinching at the end of the belt to try to free it or wiggle it!

I think its just bad! Its on and off with it! I have no clue!

Any help or ideas would be much appreciated.

Sincerely
Fritzgeo

I hate sticking seat belts.

I'd say replace it, but the quality of a used part is suspect. It could have exactly the same problem.

Taking off the trim and getting at the mechanism shouldn't be too hard. You can free it up, unroll the whole thing, and figure out where the problem is. If the spool itself is sticking, you can lubricate it with some white lithium grease; that'll fix just about anything.

So I fount the Cause of the problem, took my door panel off because was working on my window guide trims anyway and notice that the safety jam gear had broken it dry rotted and broke off from the screw ends and was getting jammed. I took it off now but the problem now is sense I removed that and if I get in a an accident I going to be !!!! LOL

Going to have to find a replacement! and soon!
