T-tops?

I am already relocating the radiator and AC condenser to the rear of the car and creating ducting for them.

Went to the wrecking yard and cut the roof off of an '82 Nissan 280zx to swap out my buddy's roof. Didnt know that the 2 seater version of the 280 zx was a lot shorter than the 4 seater. The roof I got was from a 4 seater and the t-tops wont fit right. So, now I own a roof with t-tops. Lol.

Was thinking about doin' some more craziness to the car and add these t-tops. It would take some serious fab work, but I think i can pull it off...

Thoughts?

Lol. I will be doing some measurements to see if they will fit and what body work would be needed.
Trying to make it very 80's period/sporty/California style. I want people to see it when it is done and question if the car "came that way". Like some rare "edition" of it. I don't want it to look like a Japanese fiberglass show car creation or something that Fast and Furious puked out.

I'm very curious why you are relocating the radiator and condenser to the rear of the car.

And as to the T-Tops, it's all a matter of personal preference.

I do not like T-Tops, or sunroofs, or convertibles. But that is just my personal opinion. They look nice, sometimes, but I wouldn't want to drive one.

That being said, I know that there are many members who would be thrilled to see a step-by-step "How to put T-Tops on a Metro" guide, or project thread. If you want to do it... do it! We'll be watching. :popcorn

The reason for relocating the radiator and AC condenser is to make room for the 2.5 liter EJ25 turbo'd Subaru STI motor and trans. Also want smoother aerodynamics in the nose.

I am not a fan of verts, personally. Adding a sunroof or rag-top is too easy! Lol. Gotta be different, right!

well.... T-tops are not going to happen. :(
I pulled the glass from the doner roof and set them on the roof of the "SK8" (my metro's name) and the glass pieces are too big by them selves. I need at least an inch or 2 in between for structure and support. Maybe it is possible with a differant set of tops? oh well...
I have my work cut out on this car anyways with all my other ideas. lol
