Just remove the cancer causing device with the 3 spark plugs in it and put in a 9 hp electric motor and 12 of his closest lead plated friends in the back.

Hate to tell you this dude, but sadly you have just suffered one of the worst lessons to be taught the hard way...Buyer beware. Best advice I can give you, is to figure out which way you want to go. Do you want to keep the metro or get rid of it? If you keep it, Id suggest ensureing you go to the right place to get things fixed, or find someone near you who works on these kind of cars, and prepare your wallet for a weight loss plan. If you get rid of it, one of us might be interested, but probably not for as much as you paid for it. ![]() Allthough you might find someone who would be willing to do a trade.

So I tried my hand at welding yesterday trying to patch my rust whole. It wasn't pretty but my uncle who was teaching me said it'll hold I just have to do a lot of touch up to make it pretty |

Weilding is tricky, especially on unibody cars that have rusted out. Best advice on this is to learn from the best, and replace what you lost with thicker than factory metal.....I prefere 1/8'th in galvanized. Had to fix my horns the hard way. >.> |

I feel your pain dude. When I looked at my 95 LSi I was all stoked to finally be responsible enough to buy a practical, efficient car. What I ended up with was a car that needed a sh*tload of work I didn't realized before I bought it...and I paid a little more than you did. Luckily though I was a mechanic and my best bud owns a shop not far from me so working on the Metro wasn't too bad. I've done all the brakes, brake and fuel lines front to back, o2 sensor, plugs, wires, ect and now I have to get to the water pump and related maintainable parts in that area because it's been down for like 3 weeks now. I also live in NJ so rust is a problem too but it's whatever. I have a truck I drive so the Geo is just a spare car for me but I'd intended on drive it a whole lot more

People don't realize that they're dealing with bottom of the barrel cars, in 1995...17 year old cars are going to need some work. |

Wow!? I see from this site that even it's members trash these cars like they are POS'. Welding patches here and there, but not making them look good. Putting glue or a screw where there wasn't anything before! Bottom of the barrel? Uhm, not likely. These sold so well because they were reliable! Some dealers made a boatload of money off these cars based on their success with the MK2 / MK3's. I can think of many shittier cars than these. Help this guy and show him why you guys are here, (i thought it's because you guys like these cars and don't want to see them die off.) |

No one ever made a penny off a Metro. They were sold at cost in order to bump up GM's CAFE numbers, allowing them to sell more Cadillacs and Hummers, which is where the money is. |
