http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=6udew9axmdM Looks like a Mormon wore a hidden camera inside the Temple and filmed the secret rituals! Many former Mormons have spoken about these rituals in detail, but here's some footage they don't want you to see. |

i know many of the things that mormons believe are quite crazy(in my opinion) but i don't know if this video is accurate. for all i know those little captions may have been complete bull s%^&. i had a mormon friend once and i would always ask him what their beliefs were, not long after he would start explaining i would walk away in anger and disbelief that anyone would believe such things. i normally try to keep an open mind and accept that i may be wrong, to be completely certain of something is to be ignorant, but if the things they teach are true i don't wanna be right.

That's a campaign film put out by an Obama supporter. Not much wackier than any other religion, but the subtitles are specifically written to inject Mitt Romney into the middle of all the wackiness. I just want to get me some of that magic underwear. Edited by Woodie, Oct 23 2012, 04:15 AM.

What's your point? That some religions have ceremonies which some people outside the faith might consider odd?? DON'T THEY ALL??? Christians have certain denominations who like to get together and wave snakes around...big deal. Muslims sometimes like to blow themselves up for the greater glory of their god. But you can't use these somewhat over-the-top practitioners to pigeon-hole the entire faith, can you? Unless you have an agenda... I am a stark-raving atheist, and I think all religious ceremonies are a little...goofy. But I have known quite a few Mormons in my life, and I have to say that they are amongst the most honest, hard-working, trustworthy people I have known. Announcing yourself as Mormon makes me almost instantly trust you to watch my dog. Personally, I don't give a shit what they do when they get together as long as they are good people when they come out. I mean, is this really any worse than eating crackers and pretending it is the flesh of a 2,000-year-old dead guy? Or believing there is an omnipotent earth goddess that we all have to placate by not using styrofoam cups and keeping our thermostat set at 50 to stave off a Noah-esque rise in the sea level? Or believing the Pyramids were built by aliens? People believe weird stuff. Who cares. |

Just love it when people post stuff like that. Even then the captions arent accurate. Every religon has something that other people think is a bit odd or wierd. |

I understand that that is why the Mafia hired Mormons to be their accountants and bookkeepers back in the "Golden Age" of Vegas. They were the only people they could trust with their money. |

yes, when looked at from the perspective of someone who is completely new to religion, all religions are weird, but when looked at from the viewpoint of people who are familiar with the main religions, mormonism is very very weird. sure you could take a person who has never been introduced to any religion and explain them all to them and they would think baptism is just as weird as mormonism, but when these other more mainstream religions, like the christian religions (protestant and catholic), came about, they were not that far off of what was already there so they are believable, they are basically continuations of other religions, as in judaism>christianity>islam. but mormonism is crazy different from christianity, to the point of being referred to as "not a christian religion" and often times, due to it's requirement to give massive amounts of money to the church and massive amounts of time and community service and it's belief that only mormons get into heaven and that they are all direct decendants of jesus (so i was told by a mormon), a cult by religious people of other faiths. it's just really far out there. next time a couple of mormon boys come by invite them in and talk to them, it's some weird stuff. like scientology weird. i'm gonna shut up now, don't wanna break the forum rules too hard. |
