We're lucky Suzuki is still doing business here at all. I would not be surprised if they folded up their tent today.

Also, don't get too excited over those statistics, they're European numbers and don't compare to ours. The test is different and their gallon is bigger, the numbers always look a lot better than ours. The Kisashi is rated 34 mpg there and 26 mpg here with the same equipment.

Then, consider the fact that if Suzuki did bring the Swift here, it wouldn't come with that 1.2 litre engine. The 1.6 from the Swift Sport would almost certainly be the only one offered. Most US consumers would not buy a 1.2 litre car that weighs 2300 pounds. This is a much bigger car than a Metro, you see, 40% more weight. If it did come here, expect 40 mpg.

If you want a car like the Metro, you need to shop further down the Suzuki product line. Skip right over the Splash, the next smaller car, the one which really compares would be the Alto. 1 litre, about 2000 pounds, the Alto is more a new version of the original Metro than anything else.
I thought I read on here this is Suzuki's last year in the US?
I'll look it up!
EDIT: I was wrong, ignore this post.

Am I the only person that wouldn't buy one because it's new? If I wanted one, I'd get in 3+ years. Same for that Chevy Sonic thing.

..........looks like Suzuki is giving Mini Cooper a run for their money.

My disposable income would need to grow substantially to justify either one. :hmm

Just think, you may be re-building, one of those, someday. :gamerz

At this point, I really want a new car so I don't have to touch any maintenance for years.

It came out in 2000 to wild reviews everywhere in the world except North America. There are millions of them out there, some are worn out. Built in seven different factories and sold in 100 different countries.
