I figured many here would be entertained by these pics!

You wouldn't think it would have much worthwhile but this hulk provided some pretty useful parts and many spares. The hillbilly cut off of the rear hatch had allowed water to get into the underbody and turn the car to rust underneath.

This is definitely a cleaner and more professional job than the one I was dealing with tearing apart for parts and scrap. Did you waterproof the rear part well so it won't collect in there and rust out the underbody? Mine was so bad I wouldn't have felt safe driving it home had I been aware of all the rust at the beginning of my project. One of the front frame horns was pretty bad and both the rear control arms were just barely hanging on.

Conor, now that you have seen the proper way to cut off the rear as shown by JM it will be pretty clear that the guy who did yours was mechanically inept but had great taste in paint. Right?? ;)

Pretty much. I would have kept that one had I not found it needed about $3000 in repairs to be roadworthy. That price is with ME doing all the labor!
