Got a chance at a 95 metro here in Seattle. She says runs sometimes has melted wiring and dies may or may not start back up. She has no phone and wants to meet away from her home I never seen anyone without a phone! Can't send me a picture because I guess no Camera either. Would anyone on here take that leap?

Mr Mojo Risin'

If you're willing to be raped then yessss :D

I guess it couldnt hurt to take a look at it, if its not too far from you. Inspect it with a stern face and then suggest $300

Sounds sketch unless your met up is in a open area like wall mart or something and take a couple friends with you
When you talk to them say if everything is good i will run to an atm and withdrawl the money so they dont try too rob you or something ive heard stories like this better to be safe than sorry

Good bye

Make sure that they have the title in hand. Don't buy anything with a lost title application.

and in their name as well. Hassle to buy a car and title it if the title is filled out wrong. Had problems with my geo for that, guy was trying to flip it and I almost had to track down the original owner.

make them meet you at the local court house so that they can sign the title and you can transfer it at the same time. eagle eye the title and their ID closely.

Sounds a bit sketchy but sometimes a guy gets lucky. If you are interested I'd make sure to meet in a public place, I'd probably take a companion along, make darn sure the title is clear and the person selling it is the registered owner, look it over carefully, as mentioned make an offer and if you reach agreement then and only then do the transaction.

Her phone may have been turned off for non payment.
She may have children and doesn't want strangers at her residence.
If it is not running, she may have trouble bringing it to a public place.
That said....$500 for a rust free car is reasonable.
Keep us posted. :news

I had same type deal with my first metro.I saw it when I was at a friends house had been sitting for almost a year in parking lot. Owner wanted to meet some where else. But I took along a friend and it turned out ok .Got 1992 metro for 40.00 never hurts to make offer and he had title in hand. Car had broke down Behind his church could not be seen from the main road and he was afraid that he may get robbed. Good luck

The mention of melted wiring sealed the deal for me.

Yea, the more I think of it the weirder it sounds. Wants to meet at a 7-11 a block from her home, she has or says she has no phone and I asked for pictures and never got them you guys are right somethings wrong or even better somtins rottin in Denmark Thanks for your thoughts I believe I'll pass.
Wish these little guys weren't so rare everyone is on the bandwagon Metros here are some up around $3500 asking prices or more. One guy wants $1000 with no engine or tranny.

If I were to meet someone on a deal like this with $500 in my pocket, I'd have a pistol in my waistband. B-)

Still, it may work out great. If the car isn't a disaster it is worth $500 around the Seattle area.
