Quoting limited to 4 levels deep
Don't want a Cadillac, I want a Cruze LTZ and hopefully it's worth it.
Why not?
Because he doesn't want to look poor.
What do you mean by that? I don't like Cadillac at all. I'd get a Lexus if I wanted a luxury car. Right now I want something for my commute.

Lets not start this again, shall we?
!Stealing the thread back!
My neighbor has relatives from Mejico that brought their new spark about a week ago and I asked to see it. I drove it (5 speed) and I looked it all over and I was impressed for the most part. It is VERY small (smaller than the metro for sure) but is okay I suppose. Agreeing with Shinrin though, buy the Sonic. Better value in the long run and size is far better

I want something that will hold up to my 120 mile a day commute.

Why wouldn't a new spark hold up for the commute vs a sonic?

Also, you seem to trade in the car every year or two so it is still in the warranty. With that being said, I don't think you have to worry about the car breaking down.

There are many people who do that commute in 15 yr old cars, so I wouldn't worry.

If driven properly it will hold up just fine, in all respects it is a normal subcompact car similar to ones found in foreign countries. It is a car designed for people who are going to abuse it and do things you wouldnt do to a car over $11,000. Its a low-income workhorse (much like the Metro was in the late 80s to early 90s). The Aveo is excluded from this list due to being just plain shoddy

My girlfriend had an Aveo as a rental, man, that was a terrible car. But I'm mainly focused on gas mileage and that's where the Cruze shines. Get 38 mpg hwy with a 1.4L turo 4 banger that moves and it looks good too! The Corolla is a great car just I want something more comfortable and less boring.

I thought hard about one, don't want it too small. I definitely want something I can carry a child in.

Yeah but even with 11 airbags I still wouldn't want to put my child in the back seat.

Now for my OCD to shine through :type
2013 Corolla - Good to above good fuel economy, repair pricing in the fair range, styling is bland to mild (unless its the S model). Price is standard ($16,000 base model)
2013 Chevrolet Spark - Very good fuel economy, repair pricing mid (its a GM mind you), styling is bold if you call it that. Price is lower at ($12,995 base model)
2013 Cadillac CTS - Okay to good fuel economy, repair pricing high (it is a high end GM model, be warned), styling is exqusite and beautiful. Price is ($40,332 base model)
1989-1994 Geo Metro - Well above average fuel economy, very low repair costs, styling is quite bland. Price is ($1000 to $3000 for a damn good one).

I'd keep my Metro and say bye to all the above. Though I really dislike Nissan...take a look at their 2013 Versa Sedan (Promising)
2013 Nissan Versa - Good to very good fuel economy, repair pricing is fair to moderate, stlying is okayish and price is ($11,990 base model)

Sonic has a 1.4 Turbo with a six speed transmission. Rated 40mpg highway.
