If driven properly it will hold up just fine, in all respects it is a normal subcompact car similar to ones found in foreign countries. It is a car designed for people who are going to abuse it and do things you wouldnt do to a car over $11,000. Its a low-income workhorse (much like the Metro was in the late 80s to early 90s). The Aveo is excluded from this list due to being just plain shoddy
My girlfriend had an Aveo as a rental, man, that was a terrible car. But I'm mainly focused on gas mileage and that's where the Cruze shines. Get 38 mpg hwy with a 1.4L turo 4 banger that moves and it looks good too! The Corolla is a great car just I want something more comfortable and less boring.
Sonic has a 1.4 Turbo with a six speed transmission. Rated 40mpg highway.
I looked at an LTZ with the 1.8L, long story short. Hated it... Especially the headliner made from like egg carton like material. I've been looking at an Autumn Metallic 2013 Cruze LTZ with black leather with the RS package, sunroof, Pioneer sound system, navigation and the enhanced safety package, like it a lot!

I think they're the same car, the Cruze is just an upgraded model. Slightly different body, same engines from what I see.

The Cruze rides and handles better, a lot quieter and more comfortable than the Sonic.

Guys don't try to persuade, 89 has his mind made up. Either the corolla or spark/cruze.

I would say you go with toyota since you are a loyal toyota owner. They should give you some kind of loyal customer discount. lol (I'm being serious there)

My brother just bought a Spark. He has a metro too. It's a pretty nice car for the price. I haven't driven it yet but for the money I think it appears to be a good value.

yea like that 2012 is so outdated and noisy....
The Corolla is a great car but it gets kind of noisy on the hwy and when I accelerate quickly, also it rides choppy over rough pavement at hwy speeds. Great for the city though.
Just drive the Metro for a while, and then when you get back into the Corolla, it'll seem much quieter. ^o)

I'm looking into buying a 2013 Cruze LTZ, trading in my 2012 Corolla for it since I'm wanting something with more features and quieter on my commute. I am wanting to wait for the new 2014 Corolla but not sure if I can wait so long. I'd appreciate any help!
Do it! I almost bought a 2011 Cruze Eco. The features are awesome, VERY quiet and comfortable, good power and manual trans, and good handling. The only thing that kept me from buying it was the fact that the Ford Fiesta/Mazda 2 (Spark and Sonic weren't on sale yet) were cheaper and more fun to drive and I didn't need the extra space and weight.

I'm about to sign papers tomorrow on a Lexus ES300h... Gets 40city 39highway and 40 combined... Really nice vehicle! Thankful for my dads discount!
