Engine Mount on Metro - What To Do?

I will take more pictures and post tonight. Does anyone have the manual transmission mount for a 1993 manual transmission 3 cylinder convertible LSI For sale?

While junkyarding, I found a 93 vert with automatic transmission.
The mounting bracket in the picture also has that forward looking tilt that is in your picture.
Was yours a conversion from automatic to manual?
If so, a standard bracket (btw I have 2 full sets of MT brackets from a 92 and a 94 base models) might not work.
You may need to make a modified bracket :dunno

Judging by the side by side picture my guess would be that the mounting bracket you have that bolts to the block is the same as mine.(MT) The mount itself (the black painted part) appears to have much less angle on yours and matches the picture that Jittney posted (thanks) of the AT car. The mount in her pic appears to line up with the body mounting point much better than yours CharlestonMetro. That would be the case because it has the proper AT mounting bracket on the engine.

If there is a junkyard near you maybe compare it to a standard Metro MT. I know that the brackets and mounts themselves on my 93 vert and 94 Base, both MT, are identical.

Well my friends, here is an update and the news is not good.

It turns out the entire mounting of the bracket was rigged by the previous owner and the shop that "fixed" this a few weeks ago.

At least 2 of the bolt holes that hold the engine mounting bracket into the block are broken. One looks like it's about to go. It is a **mess**.

To correctly fix it, I would imagine, would require replacing the engine block. Some type of modification is going to have to be done to hold this side of the engine up.

At least have a welding shop look at it - they should be able to weld the holes back.
There are also 3 more holes just on the other side of the filter that could be used with a flat bracket to reinforce the other 3.

broken out holes in the block is not the cause, they are the result. fix them and put it back like it is and they will goof up again.--------

The welding shop across the street used to fix damage like that but the cars were new then. A used undamaged Metro block is pretty reasonable priced. GeoGlenn may be able to fix you up.

if cost is the main priority, i agree with rjsdotorg - just fabricate a bracket to reach on over to those other holes in the block.
and, as old man mentioned; be sure your motor mounts aligns right when you hook it back up.
