My wife has been having problems with her Metro. The only thing she told me was that it kept dying in traffic. My smarty son-in-law asked when the fuel filter had been replaced. I didn't know as it was bought used less than a year ago, so I replaced that and the air filter also as that looked like it needed replacing. The car started right up and ran fine. I drove it around the block (about 6 miles) with no problem. Today I hopped in the car and drove it into town, about 16 miles. Ran fine. Stopped to get fuel. Started right up afterward. Went into a store to do some shopping, gone about a half hour. I came out and it wouldn't start. But it started up about an hour later. Tried to die on me on the way home. When I got home I turned it off and started it right up again. But 10 minutes later it wouldn't start. An hour later it started with no problem. What gives? The car has the 1.3L 4 cyl. with and automatic transmission.

Wifes friends geo is doing this as well. I"ll be checking the fuel pressure soon. Id assume its the fuel filter, but I'd also check for loose ignition fuses and stuff like that.

Hooray! Just in case anybody might be interested, I replaced the fuel injector and that solved the problem. And, I got it done before my wife got home from overseas. :D
