1998 Chev Metro complete G10 3cyl 1999 Suzuki Swift with G13 and blown trans. Thinking of picking up the swift to donate the G10's trans because the Metro is severely rusted out. Will it work without too much trouble? I searched but couldn't find a clear answer. Thanks! |

Got 70 MPG?

It will work, but you need only the transmission, no shift linkages or brackets need to be switched. Also, it's a completely different gear ratio. 4.39 in the 3 cylinder versus the 3.79 in the 4 cylinder. So you're basically going to loose a bunch of MPGs by doing this. |

What about axles? I can directly swap the 3cyl transmission into the 4cyl swift? If so, GREAT NEWS! Also, what about just swapping the whole G10 engine and trans directly into the Swift? Thanks for the reply!! [PS MPG is not an issue for my winter racing machine ;)] Edited by inverted, Oct 29 2012, 02:03 PM.

Can be done, but, you have to swap out the wiring harness, ecm, etc, etc. |

Very good. So my best bet would be direct tranny swap, correct? No other parts required as indicated by Starscream? |

That should be about it. With that gear ratio, it's going to feel like you put a turbo on the car with how it will accelerate, but it will also get the gas mileage of a Newer V8 vehicle

inverted, you WILL need to reverse the stud on the trans that your stay arm (rod that runs next to the linkage) bolts to. If you look at both trans at the same time, you'll see it. No big deal, but if you don't change it, the shifter will bind like hell, if it shifts at all....good luck |
