Hi everyone, New to forum and metro's . Just bought a 94 3/5. Had a complete rebuild engine.Guy did a great job .. Problem is with idle . Starts goes into high idle after it warms up idle drops to where it should be. 800-850 . When you touch the throttle on either by hand or accelerator peddle, it goes back into fast idle mode . then slowly backs down.checked for leaks . Haven't found any. checked codes no codes showing.Suggestions :banghead ? Thanks for any help.

Ive had this issue for a while. Im not really sure what is causing it either, although one thing I intend to do that you should try as well is properly adjusting the TPS.

Just a few things to check, recheck the timing with a light, check for vaccum leaks and proper hose routings, check the accelerator for sticking, check the grounds on the back of the intake manifold (very important).

Thanks Shenanigans and Blue rhino for the reply's. I'm only finding two grounds . one from battery to transmission other is a smaller ground wire from firewall to top of valve cover. are there any threads with a picture of where the ground goes on back of manafold ? and size wire? Thanks again.

We should put this picture at the top of every page, with a caption that says: "Don't ask for help until you've removed, wire brushed, and retightened this connection".
