Okay so compression readings dry on piston one and two are 135. Didn't bother to do piston 3 yet. Plug number two has a little oil on the bottom plus a little burnt stuff on the metal little piece (not the electrode) When car runs it has like a ?metal ticking sound? not loud but you can hear it if you're close to the engine. So the compression sucks and my oil pan gasket keeps leaking due to blow by. I replaced the pcv valve and it went down some, but still leaking. Are my oil rings shot????? |

glad I went back and checked. I must have misread it. Okay compression readings(I double checked on these) 1 cyl- 135 2 cyl- 102 3 cyl- 102 So now what is going on |

Those are not OK compression readings. It seems this engine is just about due for a rebuild! Compression is definitely low and at least part of this is related to the rings if excessive crankcase pressures are blowing seals/gaskets. How did the wet test look? Do that. If the numbers come up a great deal, you are looking at an issue with the rings. If not, the valves are also bad. Are you consuming oil besides the leaking or not? If not, your oil rings may not be too bad. It definitely seems you have a compression ring issue. Conor |

Not really taking oil not related to the leak. |

Did you do the compression tests with wide open throttle? If not the numbers will be a bit higher but it is just a matter of degree. The engine is ready for a complete rebuild soon. |

I did it with wot. So I went to leave and noticed I was low on oil, due to the leak. So I put in a quart of the only thing I had. 5w-20 motorcraft synthetic blend. Engine ran amazingly and I didn't notice a leak. After about 45 mins worth of driving it went back to its old self. Why is this??? |

It's kinda like when you see a lady you really want to impress. Suck in that beer gut and walk tall. She starts to talk to you and show some interest. After about 45 min of holding in the gut and inflating the shoulders it all comes apart at the seams. Well you started to show some attention to your Metro and it was simply trying to impress you. JK Who can say why it might have seemed to be running great. The Metro demons may have been exorcised for a little while.
