Rebuilt my 3cyl and on first test drive down the street there is coolant coming out from around the head bolts on the outside. Also there is coolant in the oil now. New head bolts and tourqed to 50Ftlbs. Anyone know what this might be?? |

Did you mill the head and deck the block? |

Sure its not just leftover coolant from the tear down? Pictures of leaking coolant around headbolts would be nice. |

Same as glen..... I hate the use of rebuilt..... as a term of description.. most people do not do it properly... or right....not banging on you lemon.... just for all others that read this....unless you actually mic. Cylinders. And crank, cam,.checking run out, line boring...decking block and fully machinined head...ect...and many other things........do not use the term... ....rebuilt.... |

Rebuilt in this case means full tear down. Block bored out since cylinder 2 was out of spec. Crank polished since I pulled it from the yard. Everything hot tanked and checked with a straight edge. All new pistons and bearing. All new valves and stem seals. New water pump oil pump. Pretty much everything new. Will post pics tomorrow. |

If it's leaking, could be your headgasket was just crap out of the box, or you didnt torque the headbolts enough, or they were torqued out of order. 54 is the actual torque, not that i think 4 would make a difference. |

What head gasket did you use? What head bolts did you use? Did you pray to the Geo gods before firing it up? |
