You're going to have to do better than that. Try shifting the gear manually? |

When i bought the car in the end of September. My step dad changed all spark plugs, air filter, heater core, back motor mount, oil, Coolant, New fuel cap... I can get the car to go 35 easy... but getting to 45+ is the hardest thing to do. It all started yesterday. When i try and go above 35. slowly letting go of the gas, and repressing. It doesnt do much. and my car is starting to sound like its manual, I mean in the beg. It sounded loud. but now its LOUD. Ima chick, and dont know much about these things |

Do you have access to a video camera? If you could video the car driving (trying to accelerate) it wold be very helpful. |

Like Coche said, try shifting from L, 2, and D manually. Start in L 2 around 20 D around 35 See if that makes an improvement. Has it been like this since he worked on it? |

It hasnt been like this at all until yesterday. not sure what it is. Had my step dad, drive it and look at it. He doesnt know what the problem is he thought it was low tranny fluid, But i put some in, and it hasnt made a difference. No, This problem is new. it wasnt there after he worked on it. Its my first car. Im so lost. |

An automatic, normally you put it in D, and the car shifts on its own. However, you can start in L, which is first gear. When you get up to around 20, ease off the gas a little and bump it up to 2. You'll be able to feel when it shifts. Same with D. D=third gear. If you added tranny fluid, you'll want to be sure you didn't overfill. With the car on a level surface, start it and let it just sit there in park. Pull the stick, wipe it off, and put it back in. Now pull it out, that's your fluid level. |
