Howdy, My repair manual has a horrible drawn picture of the air valve behind a cover. My problem is, I don't see a thing that looks anywhere close to what's drawn. Is there access to it without taking it off the intake manif? Thanks Edited by fiberstress, Nov 3 2012, 10:51 PM.

Jittney, it's a Haynes manual. That seems like a great site, but I can't get to the home page or other sections. Do you just play around with the URL to navigate? I didn't see the air valve, though. I figured out from another forum that what is shown in the haynes manual is from a '94, so there's the first problem. Edited by fiberstress, Nov 5 2012, 05:19 PM.

gmpartsgiant.com Edit this site works for me, too. However, it seems to work only in certain areas. Edited by Jittney, Nov 5 2012, 05:36 PM.

Fast idle air valve is built into the lower portion of the throttle body. By design it allows the engine to idle high while engine is cold and returns to normal idle as the engine warms to operating temp. |
