I have a 95 metro 5 spd 1.0. I recently took the EGR valve off and cleaned it out. After putting it back on the car it would not start. I have cleaned the egr before with no prblems. The car now starts when it is cold and will get to normal temperature but as soon as I tap the accelerator it idles down and dies. It will not restart unless I hold the gas. Not sure where I need to start. I tried taking the egr off and plugging the port while starting it with the same results. I don't what else to do because I don't want start buying parts that will not fix it.

Thanks,
Chris

Maybe a clogged fuel filter?

Chris, maybe you just unplugged something. Pull and push all of your connectors, and vac hoses to see if you can get them to fit better...

Paul, the fuel filter was replaced a couple of weeks before and it ran fine with the new filter until now. Maddog, everything looked like it was in place. The only hoses that were moved were the ones that attach to the egr. I will give it another later. Thanks

Something to consider.
One GMF had a clogged cat after cleaning her EGR

I pulled the exhaust manifold off and I still have the same problem. I'm starting to lean toward the ISC or fuel injector. I have the ISC out and will put 5V to it to see if it moves.
