I am in the process of rebuilding my 94 XFi. Today I picked up my head from the machine shop were I was told to bleed the lifters. He said to use a vise or c-clamp to decompress the lifters until I can compress them by hand. Is this correct and also is there another way or is there addition steps I should do? The motor had 237k on it before the rebuild, but everything looks good so far. Thanks |

Here's a tutorial on cleaning/rebuilding your lifters. When you reassemble them don't fill them with oil, just a drop or two, then you can either soak them overnight in oil or put them into service and let them pump themselves up. http://geometroforum.com/topic/3937058/1/ Don't forget to use a good quality 5W-30 oil. Good Luck! |
