1991 metro 5 speed. Replaced both cv axles because of clicking noise and broken boots. Torqued axle nut to129 ft lbs.and wheels to 44 ft lbs. now have a noise when turning or swerving to the right only. Liked to never broke axle nuts loose with 600 ft lbs torque impact. Now that the bearings have been loosen and axle torqued to 129 ft lbs could that be causing a bearing noise and vibration? If so which side and what is the best way to check which one it might be? |

Have you checked the brakes and rotors. Maybe a rotor is warped and the pins which the calipers slid on need a lube job. |

I have not checked brakes or rotors. I did not remove them during install of cv axles. Need less to say it wasn't doing this before I replaced axles. I drive it about 60 miles every day down a curvy road to and from work and never felt this vibration before. Just had the typical clicking when turning sharp. Cv axles fixed that. |

Thanks Dayle1960, I lubed up caliper pins tightened axle nut some, still no help. Finally put old axle back in left side and no more noise except for clicking when you turn. Long story short Oreilly's new axles did not fit either side. Had allreadly replaced right one with reman because of a fitmit problem. Know am waiting for a reman for left side. The new ones are just a little longer. |

Metro body widths changed from '94 to the '95 models. The '95 is about an inch wider, thus the axles cannot interchange. You probably got the incorrect year axle from your supplier. I wonder if you bought a poorly remanufactured axle and installed it properly, yet it is still bad due to a guy in a shop somewhere who was eating Cheetos instead of lubing the joints properly. |

No orange finger prints. LOL. Left reman axle took care of problem. My recomendation would be stay away from O'reilly's new cv axles for 1991 model. They are about 1/8 of inch longer on inboard joint, about the width of the snap ring groove. |
