Sure there is. Homosapiens. Humans. Whatever you'd like to call our species. Why do we do this? Evolution.

Most meat eating species don't like decaying flesh. Leave that to the vultures. I'll take my fresh and still bleeding. However, I've fairly lazy, I'd prefer my meat cooked so its softer and makes less of a mess. I was taught as a child not to put anything into my mouth that I find on the ground, and to be kind to small animals. So either way, as a child I wasn't going to be eating raw meat or apples off the ground. From a purely physical standpoint though, I am designed to eat a diet of meat and greens. Anything that comes within reach of my hands, I'm designed to eat, almost. I'm sure lions, as lazy as they are, would prefer their meat cooked if they could get it. |

Take tums, 6 twice a day or 2 6 times a day, which ever works best for you. Yup, welcome to my world. I was on 12 different drugs, some were 100+ pills a month and my insurance company started to cut me off. I was living at a rehab center and went on a field trip to the local mall. I scrolled the premeter of the place and came upon a GNC. I discovered the warranty was one month, full refund even if you use all the produce and returned an empty container. I bought a few items and noticed some improvements, I started spending 400 bucks a month and 2 years later I got enough eye sight to see to drive and got out of a wheelchair I was in of 9 years.

Biologists call the bear family omnivores, meaning they will eat anything they might happen to come across in the wild. Bears are very well known for their eating fish and other animals, including man. Yet they can survive well on just a diet of fruit, berries, nuts, and honey. There is one bear-like creature that is a classification problem for the biologist, the Panda. Until recently this animal was classified with the raccoons, but are now in a family all by themselves. The design of the Panda’s teeth are specifically for eating bamboo shoots. The Panda has flattened teeth that are large in diameter when compared to the jaw. Yet the teeth and jaw structure of the Panda are very similar to the brown bear. Although it eats only bamboo, the teeth and jaw structure of the Panda, like the other bears, appear to be designed for eating meat. It seems, then, that the bear group can thrive on a vegetarian or meat diet. Many believe today that man is a descendant of the primates. It is true there are many similarities between primates and man, but there are also many differences. One difference is that the primates are strictly vegetarian in their diet. It would be very peculiar for man, an omnivore, to have descended from a vegetarian ancestor. The primate jaw and teeth seem to function both for the carnivorous and the herbivorous diet. Should one say that because the primates have such an ability that they were originally meat eaters? Most organisms are vegetarians. Even among the carnivorous groups there are vestiges of vegetarian diets. I've met a lot of healthy vegetarian or vegans. I've also met many with health problems & those that do, do not understand they must supplement their diets which foods that contain iron, etc. Heart disease is the number 1 killer in the United States. According to the CDC in 2009, “About every 25 seconds, an American will have a coronary event, and about one every minute will die from one.” One per minute works out to over half a million people dead from heart problems every year. One of the leading causes of heart disease is cholesterol. The fact that cholesterol is the leading cause of the leading killer makes cholesterol important. What foods contain cholesterol? MEAT and products made from animals (cheese, egg yolk, etc.) Our bodies already manufacture all the cholesterol we need, so it is not necessary to consume more. Oh yeah, drugs are bad m'kay. Pharmaceutical is out of control. I'd try natural remedies way before going to a doctor. |

I haven't been sick for several years. I get headaches and every once in a while the shits. If I feel like crap for a day it is usually due to too much alcohol. I have a bottle of vitamin c pills. If I think I am going to get sick, I will start taking those. I have some b12 vitamins just in case my shingles come back. It actually works very well. |

Jane Goodall strongly disagrees: http://www-bcf.usc.edu/~stanford/chimphunt.html Chimps are one of the closest known relatives, and while they *do* have a mostly vegetarian diet, clans of chimps also hunt down bush meat regularly. I love certain animal meats (pig/turkey/chicken/fish) but really support the whole vegetarian/vegan movement. One acre of farmland can feed *many* more people than if that farmland is just used for animal feed. Here's a cool talk that touches on this topic: http://www.ted.com/talks/tristram_stuart_the_global_food_waste_scandal.html By having more farmland for human food, crop prices drop and more people are fed. With the millions of acres that are dedicated for animalfeed however, things get more expensive.... Edited by maxmpg, Nov 16 2012, 09:57 AM.
