Hello!
I've been a lurker on the forum now for about a year,
and for longer then that I have been helping my friend DesmondGhostRider with his struggles to keep a fleet of 4 geos running between all his friends,
and thought I'd make his day by adding a 5th one for him to be stuck helping with!

I purchased the geo last night from a guy in Memphis, then poor Desmond drove it home to just outside little rock for me, and nearly froze to death doing so!

I really am not sure what I've gotten myself into with this project,
its a 91 4 door 5 speed, and I've never driven stick shift before.
Back as a teenager I had some experience with a motor cycle, so I somewhat know how to work a clutch, so I hope it will be easy to learn.

Millage is 53k, probably rolled over at least once though

I got the car as a commuter car, I live up north of sherwood and want to get a job in little rock, and my buick only gets about 18-20 mpg, so this seemed like the best option.

The car needs ALLOT of work...
But the engine and transmission are strong.

The back seat was taken out, and replaced with fold down boards that fold flat.

I really like that, but since i have a 2 year old, I really need a back seat.

It pulls hard to the right, needs an alignment.

Stuff that we need to do/have done, just from the initial look over it:

Alignment
02 sensor
fluids change
needs rear view mirror
needs right side mirror
tail light broken
needs radio, speakers, etc
driver's door panel mostly gone
new tires
fix overhead light
rear seat made usable for people again
dashboard buttons
glove box missing
both rear doors wont open
2 or more of the windows wont roll up/down
Theres no heat/ac, all the parts are just gone, or it never had them.
The windshield is broken, not enough to block vision, but a police officer might not like it.
Rear doors do not open,
passenger front door only opens from inside, and is missing the slot for the key on the outside.
Back hatch (surprisingly...) does not hold itself up. The guy included spare ones that had the wrong end piece, originals have a bend in them, and his replacements are straight. Should be an easy fix when I get too it.

So in the next few days or a week, I'll post more pictures and updates as we fix stuff up and go to picknpull

Pictures of under the hood seem to have vanished somehow,
I'll retake them tomorrow.

Tomorrow I get it registered and road worthy, and a trip to pick'n'pull for some basics, and one of these days I'll probably make a trip up to show it too you scoobs.

I have little money for parts at this point...
After things like alignment and oil change over the next few days, my budget is very stretched, at least until the start of December.

Desmond dropped off a load of parts from his parts car for me, spent the afternoon cleaning the inside up and fixing small things.
I can already tell that many, many, many of my upcoming hours will be spent doing very small tasks on this car.

I don't know what all I'll need till I get a chance to take it all apart, might be simple fixes on allot of it.

As I go I'll make a list of the parts I need and let you know.

dont spend your monies on alignment--follow this "how to" and do it yourself. wont come out lperfect, but it will be good enough for a while til you get more money

Usually I would just say to a line in the driveway at home but it looks like someone is taking the steering will often they put it on sideways in order to go straight you have to hold the wheel sideways each of the front wheels is pointing out words so the whole Car lurches from side to side if you don't hold it just straight so it would be better to have a professional just do it right perfect this first time we found a place today that only charges $59 for alignment which for around here is about $20 cheaper than the other cheap places we could find
