To get to my house you have to off road. At some point the cars gonna bottom out and that oil pan is gonna get smacked hard. If it doesn't pop it, its gonna dent it and smack it hard enough to jar it around. In the past I went a lot lighter on the rtv and had the seal break when this would happen. Since changing to the high temp rtv and using a tad extra I havent managed to break a seal. If anything they are a little hard to remove. Its at a spot where too a little extra isnt gonna hurt anything. You just have to be careful on stuff like the water and oil pump. Put too much on those and you'll gunk up the ports and its a bitch to get RTV outta stuff like that lol. |

Yeah...... I hear ya about the gravel roads in Arkansas. I lived in Conway for a couple of years, about 5mi off the main Rd on a dirt/gravel/ mud rutted road..... could be a bitch some times and hard on a vehicle. Was just kidding about the RTV! |

Well I finally got some time to finish building it. Its been so long since I started this project and I'll be glad to have it all finished up for good. I'm using up some of my stockpile of parts to give him the best of all the parts I have. The whole thing has pretty come apart and is now being reassembled. Really looking forward to not only having it run, but actually knowing that everything on the car works and works well. There's a few repairs he will need to get done that I just cant handle right now. I've injured my back and struggle to do this kinda work now. :c 4 herniated disks and a bulged vertebrate. Sad part is I sat in the metro and the injury lines up perfectly with the metro seats so looking like it was the years of abuse I put my back though crashing theses things around. He will need to get new drive axles, tires, and brakes. I also found some rust damage and repaired most of it. Whats left is holes in the side kick plates. If he wants them fixed we can handle it at the fab shop. New motor is in and most of the upgraded interior is in. Old interior was torn up and worn out. I replace a few panels and I'm debating swapping out one of the seats. Only real problem I'm having is I cant seem to get spark. I know the distributor, relays, fuses, spark plug, and ignition switch are all good. Whats left ECU and Ignition Coil? Its showing the check engine light so I'm assuming the ECU is working, at least thats how it works on the Trackers. I'll post some pics when its all done and looking its best. |
