Long story short, is that my alternator or something is acting up on my car. My battery has been dying for the past week because my alternator isnt putting out enough voltage to charge (round low 12)
I had these same symptoms and concluded I needed a new alternator--but then just before I closed the hood I noticed I had forgotten to remove the small paperclip jumper I put in when I set the timing a few days earlier. :smackface Apparently the jumper limits the alternator so the load on the engine is constant while you set the timing.

http://geometroforum.com/topic/1145487/1/#new explains how to set your timing. You need it at 5 degrees to pass emissions but then after test change it to 8 degrees for best fuel efficiency. If you hear pinging while driving then change it back to 5 degrees or use higher octane fuel so it does not ping. There is a debate about this at http://geometroforum.com/topic/5001314/1/#new

Are you certain your belt is tight enough? If you hear any squealing at all then that is your alternator problem--a slipping belt. If the belt is really loose then it will slip without squealing. Get the belt as tight as possible--I push on the alternator with a 2 foot piece of 2x4 while I tighten the top bolt.

the belt squeals for a lil bit until i hit around 45mph then it stops. the last time i tightened it, i broke the belt so i dont want that happening while again. The alternator is charging fine since i cleaned the connector that attaches to the tranny

(Solved) the actual problem was the alignment of the alternator. so the belt was crooked and probably wasnt functioning to its max performance
