First, is everyone ok?? Was this still your daughters? Seriously sorry to see this. I'm sure as always you had this one in excellent mechanical condition. On a lighter note, I do hate the thought of your herd dwindle much below 43 Metros or so, and if you need help locating a spare Metro to drive, let us know?
New marketing angle for your ev conversions?"If you are in a front end collision, Again, seriously, glad/(hope?) you're ok and sorry about the loss. |

Gad zooks! First off are you ok? And Is the other person ok? Kinda looks like she has a problem driving anyway by the looks on the other side of her car I hope everything is fine. Too bad for the Metro. But it looks like it held up fine. I wonder why her airbags didn't go off?Good luck Otey |

At least this was not one of the pretty ones. I have had this back from my daughter for quite awhile now, and it has just been a shop beater to haul stuff and run errands with. The irony to all this, is that I was on my way to DMV to transfer the title for another 97 that I just bought. One 97 added to the fleet, one 97 subtracted from the fleet. I was going to be a man about going back to get it with my trailer, but my right foot seems to be on fire now from absorbing the impact. Since I was putting everything I had into the brake pedal, that is also what stopped me besides the air bags and seat belt. Kinda hyper extended the foot back towards me. Just sent a tow truck for it instead. |

Glad you are OK. How is your foot/ankle/knee doing? OK...now solve this puzzle. How did the left rear door and left quarter panel on the Prius get dented? |

Hanging out in the hospital doing my time waiting. The person at fault turned left in front of me and hit the rear drverside of the prius, sending it into my lane. The car at fault was a newer camry. His insurance will pay for my ride, the prius, and whatever is making my foot hurt. |

I thought we hated priuses, not that they hated us enough to intentionally mow us down. I'm sure we'd return the favor if our cars were the bigger, heavier ones though... Edit: now you have an excuse to rebuild it and turn it in to an EV. Edited by Stubby79, Jun 25 2015, 08:35 PM.

Sweet! No breaks on the xray. Just need to stay off it and keep it elevated. They said a blood vessel got damaged in there somewhere, which is why half of the foot looks black n blue. They said the swelling will go down in a couple days, and I will be able to get my shoe on it again. I ended up leaving work before the tow truck got back with my metro, but I will get a good chance to check it out tomorrow or the next day. It does not look good for rebuild, since the damage goes all the way to the firewall, and it is also a 4/3, which takes some of the enthusiasm out of saving it. It might have just been from the airbag, but the glove box does not close, and the dash looks kinda tweaked. I will see how the guy's insurance company wants to handle it, but I won't let them have my car for nothing. If the buy back is cheap enough, it may still be around for parts or something. |

Any idea what speed you were going? The Prius? Just wondering about the air bags, that's all. SO sorry about your foot. I'm REALLY glad you went to the hospital. Amazing how many folks around here don't. Actually, now that I think about it, everyone around here is just short of dead, until the cop says it's their fault. And then the miracle happens. ![]()
Hell yeah!

It seemed like we were each almost ready to stop, but I am pretty sure our combined speeds still exceeded 5 mph of impact. I know exactly what you mean about how folks start getting ideas of getting something for nothing when the are involved in an accident. Sometimes people do indeed get more than what is right, but most of the time I think there is stuff in place in the system to stop that from happening. It makes me sick to see somebody get a door ding and then get out holding their neck, but they probably won't be able to get more than what it costs to fix the ding. |
