I saw this question on a facebook status on the GMF facebook page, although I'm somewhat modifying it but this question's credit goes all to Johnny! (at least I think he runs the GMF facebook) Anyways I thought it was a pretty neat question. Let's say the Metro averaged 25-27mpg, still pretty good MPG, sure but nothing compared to their actual MPG. Would you still drive it around or have nothing to do with it? I personally still would drive the Metro convertible around. But for the other models... probably not depending on the deal. How about you?

I can turn my Metro completely around on a two-lane road. And some ONE-LANE roads. I can park it anywhere. It is about as difficult to work on as a lawnmower. Parts are cheap. It is pretty reliable. Nobody wants to steal it...or be seen in it. Yep. I think I would! |

Does GMF still exist in this crazy world of 27 MPG Metros? If so, yea I would still drive it. If not... I'm 100% out. There are a TON of cool, safe, fun, cheap, good running, and good looking cars out there that will get 27 MPG. Here is my new 27 MPG DD:![]() BTW, if you ever feel the need to be around a bunch of stuck up dick heads... join an SVO forum. Edited by Turbo Dan-O, Nov 24 2012, 06:15 AM.

I drive a four door automatic with mechanical problems, I'm not getting great gas mileage as is. The second worst mileage geo. Only thing I have going is its a 3 cylinder at least. I think I'm averaging 26 this tank, with about 35 being my highest that's not all highway. |

As much as I enjoy the Metro's small size, I probably would chose to drive something else if it wasn't for the gas mileage. My old twin cam Neon 5-speed gets around 37mpg and has nearly 3 times the power and way more comfort features. Metro is far easier to work on though! In the snowy winter months the 3 cylinder Subaru Justy wins out. It doesn't get near the mileage of a Metro but the push button 4wd and having over 30% more power on tap when slogging through heavy snow makes it worth it. |

Yes, because in order for it to get that low of a MPG it would have to be a V6 or something...making it a sleeper. |

EXACTLY F*** no I wouldn't drive a geo if it got mid to high 20s mpgs. I would drive a car that is 10 times more comfortable. I think I use to get mid 20s on the highway with my foxbody mustang and close to 23 highway mpgs in my 93 caprice. I would immediately prefer those 2 cars over the geo if it got 27mps I think some of you guys forgot there are many cars out there that are easy to find parts for.... |
