So does anyone know about home audio/video cable setups? My dad (for whatever reason) wants to go from the back of our netflix/dvd combo player to the TV in his room while at the same time going to the TV in the living room...however refuses to buy an RCA splitter and new RCA cables...he wants to run audio and video RCA split once (to the TV in the living room) an then split again and combined to a Coaxial connection (to the TV in his room). dont ask me why but i dont even know if this is possible....would need some crazy adapters or some other shit to make it work properly im gonna bet. if anyone has any help that would be killer. last i checked it would be a LOT of quality loss as well. |

I have no idea how far the stretch is from room to room but that in itself would prove to be more than I'd want to do. Tell Dad to get you all of the stuff and tell you how to do it and you'll do the labor :). |

yeh hes not the type of guy to do that. im expected to do the legwork because im the 'tech-guru' we already have a run of coax to the room just i dont think its possible to make the coax convert like that without some sort of pre conversion software/hardware... |

There's your answer. Tell him he HAS to get a splitter and more coax. It's the only way it will work the way he wants it to! Of course you'd know - you're the tech guru! |

well thats the shitty part lol, ill never end up hearing the end of it if i dont do it all on my own... its not even that it needs more coax...needs RCA splitters and fresh RCA wires....the combo box doesnt even have coax out on the back of it!

You can buy a RCA to coax adapter...called a RF Modulator($20 at Walmart). One side has red yellow white and other has coax. Needs 110v power to work. After which you can run coax anywhere but might want to pick up amplifier just to make sure. I had two floating around at my house...Verizon morons used it to hook up my TV from HD box cause They don't supply HDMI cables. Edited by 00Metro, Nov 27 2012, 12:51 PM.

Mine was hooked up with component cables. When a 2 dollar HDMI cable is lighter, faster, and cleaner looking. |
