While doing a search to find the stock weight of my car (looks like 2-door hatchback = 1650 lbs) I found this review of metros http://consumerguideauto.howstuffworks.com/1990-to-1994-geo-metro-6.htm which said:"TROUBLE SPOTS Consumer Guide's® Auto Editors have scoured repair bulletins and questioned mechanics to search for commonly occurring problems for a particular vehicle...Hard starting: In cold weather the engine may not start, or may stumble or stall because ice forms in the vacuum line between the throttle body and MAP sensor. (1993-94) I recently replaced all my vacuum hoses, after reading this I've decided to carry the old hose to swap out if the car is not starting at freezing temperatures. |

Good to know. However, in the 10++ years that we've owned Metros, they have been one of the best cold starting machines that I've seen. -20 degree starts have not been a problem yet. Now watch, it won't start next cold blast! Adding the MAP vacuum line icing, to our knowledge base as to "why it won't start cold", is great. Just in case that situation rears it's ugly head.

1650 is for the GEN2 cars. A 95 stripper weighed 1800 lbs. |
