All illegal drugs are bad. Gateway or otherwise, God says let your body be his temple. If everybody in the country turned their hearts over to the Lord, then there would be a lot less useage of drugs.

That idea is not going to happen because human nature is stronger that the calling the Lord is telling his children. Most drug offenders are selfish. All they care about is their own wants, needs and desires before their family's wants, need and desires.

But when we all get to heaven, we will have to answer for our sins on earth. Hope you all are ready for that day. If not, I hear that dancing on the firey flames sucks.

You have got to be kidding me.
And on the 8th day God said,

"Marijuana shall be illegal. For it makes man lazy and hungry. Alcohol will be legal because I drink that shit on the daily"

(it was something like that)

I still don't get how people are against pot.

have you actually smoked it, on more then one occasion?
i hear too many people say "i tried it once didn't like it"

when i was young, it was easier to get a hold of alcohol then pot.

i smoke weed after work everyday, am i some crazy out of hand pot head? no.

can people become crazy and out of hand on pot? sure

compare it to alcohol

Turbo3 and Twincam Tweaker

i had a gateway computer once.

it led to other, more dangerous computers.

now i'm hooked, i have a monkey on my back. yes, i am a computer junkie.

i think i use more heavily at work than i do at home. i have one on my desk in the office that i fire up as soon as i sit down. then when i go into the field i have one fired up in the truck.

after i leave work for the the day i rush home, trying to get my laptop fired up for my 4:20 fix.

yep, that was a gateway computer and it led to a lifelong addiction. :D

It was, but since we have to take care of Israel, God decided to care about us more.

Its all explained in the really new testament.

You should really start doing some research.

well, it seems to me if we legalize pot then we have to legalize all other drugs. Just as if we legalize homosexual marriage we have to allow bigamy/polygamy too. I wish our Supreme Court wasnt so political and actually would take on these sort of cases. :fon I suppose its good red meat to rally conservatives in an election year :banana
Shotguns are legal. Machine guns are not.

Just because one drug becomes legal does not mean they ALL have to become legal. IMHO, marijuana was miscategorized to begin with.

The question in a democracy of free thinkers should be "Why is tobacco legal?"

(Hint: follow the money)

if anything cigs are the gateway drug, but no one even mentions that because they are 'legal'.
Overall, people who try drugs are going to try drugs. The whole gateway theory is just BS by people who still want marijuana illegal.
:gp The entire thread was properly dismissed as bunk in post #4. Classic case of "post hoc, ergo propter hoc", and we all know how silly that is.

The type of person who is going to try things is just that type of person. There is no "gateway" effect, that's pure psychobabble. Just like saying that users are trying to escape from some childhood trauma, or something else they can't deal with in their daily life. BS, they're trying to get stoned because it's fun. It feels good.

All drugs should be legal, as long as you're not out on the streets bothering other people. What you do to yourself is no one else's business. The thing which makes drugs dangerous is the fact that they are illegal. You ever heard of a turf war or drive by shooting over aspirin? Just like Prohibition, the fact that it is illegal puts the entire business in the hands of criminals who don't care about anything or anyone except the profit. Before alcohol Prohibition, it was unheard of for a woman or a child to drink. Ten years later, it was commonplace. This is the sort of result you can expect from prohibition. Prohibition also created two of the most horrible forces for evil in this country, the Mafia and the Kennedy family. Both were around before, but never would have risen to such power were it not for Alcohol Prohibition, and just think of the wonderful things this country could have accomplished had it not been for those two scourges on humanity.

I suppose if it was phrased "Marijuana is the primary illegal gateway drug to all the more addicitve hard stuff" is more apt. Technically sugar is a drug as well as the legal nasties like cigarettes, alcohol and addictive prescription pharmesuedicals. Nevertheless, All drugs do alot of harm to weak and selfish people and those close to them. :'( Not to mention taxpayers and the innocent. I suppose one could make a case for pot being less addictive, but where do you draw the line on all this? :hmm
