Called toyota today and his had been done in 97. Six years after it was new. They had not put the sticker on it or we could not find one. I asked the service department if they were still doing this and they said yes but at the dealers descretion. What ever that means.
It means --If you've done your services with them they will help you---- I was a Service Writer at Toyota ( And a Assistant Service Mngr at Chevrolet) , I know what I'm talking about from experience people ! If the dealer has never seen you before and you've never spent any money with them , they will not help you. It's not personal it's business, in other words - If you are a regular customer you'll most likely buy some other recommendations that they will try to sell you while they are working on your car. I KNOW IT SUCKS but this is how dealerships operate. Their service writers are pressed to make up-sales and usually have a # to reach every month. Warranty pays :shit ! vs CP.

I worked at a dealership as well.

If your big buddies with the service writer then you make big money easy and get what they called then the (gravy Jobs). If the service writer did not like you, you should be looking for a job somewhere else cause your going hungry. What you say is true and its all about the money. The people I worked for were crooks. If all dealerships are that way, my advice to people is stay away from them.

I agree that they are crooks...there are the ones who try to do the right thing (Like I tried) but that doesn't work. You see the crooked ones make shit load of sales and unneeded service upsales, and the righteous one are forced to do things that they don't want to in order to keep their job. :shake

As far as the Route 66 Warranties I'm not familiar with them but they'll probably have the same policy as all the other ones (ie:Portfolio) :deal
What is your concern Coche ?

Girlfriend's Jeep is covered till 100,000 miles. She's at 65k now, and it is leaking at the differential, the exhaust manifolds, and several other things are ****ed up. I am just curious what all it will cover. Her parents (the ones who paid for the warranty) don't understand what I'm saying about "Get it all fixed before the warranty runs out."

You'll have to find out what level of coverage they bought for it. Gaskets are not always covered because they are expected to fail after a certain time, but they will be covered if they have to be replaced if the manifolds are cracked ( you understand the difference)
Here is a quote from her policy "SEALS AND GASKETS Seals and gaskets are covered in conjunction with repair of above-listed components"
Here is the link to her policy info https://www.penfed.org/WorkArea/DownloadAsset.aspx?id=2147484930
Look at line 10.
Extended warranty is best taken back to the dealer that issued because some of these things have a 40 mile clause. WHICH MEANS :news ! if the originating dealer is within 40 miles you must take it there or else they will not cover the repairs.
