Total waste of money.
The purpose of a stove, be it a wood stove or a pellet stove, is to save money
I have a wood stove. I have virtually no heating bill. I get my wood for free
Those products would be fun in a fireplace or outdoor firepit.

I use a kerosene heater. very expensive to run with kerosene being 4.80 a gallon, but it heats up the room very very quickly

Along with the pretty colors, you and the neighbors get to breathe a cloud of toxic fumes.

Yeehaw!!!

I Don't?
Please explain to me why you think I pay for firewood.
I have never and will never have to pay for firewood.
For the past 3 heating seasons I have been using wood that I cut on my property. It's just a half acre.
When that wood runs out there are plenty of people that cut down trees and leave them on the curb for the city to pick up when it is their turn for City Brush Pickup.. I have taken and will take what I can from curbside. FREE, FREE, FREE!!!

I going to assume it's something to the effect of:
You pay with your time.
And/or
Do you use a chainsaw? Gas isn't free, nor is oil, etc.
:dunno

Yes I just want to put some on the fire for my kids, when grandpa did it he had a open front fire place and it was something I enjoyed as a kid at Christmas just wondering if anyone's tried it in a pellet stove, and I agree nothing's free;-)

different chemicals will burn different colors. copper salts burn blue and green, table salt burns bright yellow, i think bromine salts are purple. just pitch stuff in the fire place and see what's what color lol.

How much wood can you cut and split and haul and stack in lets say 8 hours?

Wear and tear on truck and saw and splitting maull, gas, oil, + time, I make 20$ an hour in 8 hours I can get (at dads he burns wood) 3-4 cords easily, time is worth 160$, gas probably 20$ (his woods all fairly close) its not free but it's sure way cheaper... Roughly 200-220$ for 3-4 cord where pellets like I use are 215$ a ton.... There's always buying wood around here anywhere from 100$ to 180$ per cord.... Cheap getting your own.
