I'm irritated so I'm going to rant. First of all my head rebuild went find. I put in a new o ring on the distributor/timing adjustment and.... That o ring the 15/16, 1/8 whatever it leaks. #2 I'm getting oil leak from under the timing cover already... #3 the new water pump sift come with new bolts so while torquing to 8 ftlb one broke. So here's what I am thinking. Another new water pump, new bolts this time, re re re do oil pan Rtv, put new oil pump seal/gasket, sleeve cam and crank, new seals "for the 2nd time", get proper. O ring from here, if it leaks after that I'm selling it and buying a ford focus. Can't afford to put MORE money into poor geo/Chevy sprint :-( so frusterating... Pretty well all fixed now see pages 1-.....? Edited by Vkhelldog, Mar 17 2013, 06:50 PM.

Let it ALL out. We're here to help. After it passes and you get to feeling better, PM me your address and I'll send you a correct O-ring. ![]() Assuming you haven't done something as unwise as selling the poor thing.

sometimes the pan gets to warped imo, and will always leak like mine! i think im going to try a cork gasket with rtv. the o-ring, are you sure its not leaking from the gasket between the head and dist. housing? |

OMG noooooooo! ![]() Those cork gaskets will ruin an oil pan! Don't do it! They're too thick, and soft. You tighten down the bolts, and the pan sinks down into the gasket under the bolt head. Carnage! |

id like to know how you figured out that it was leaking inside, it looks spotless to me. I have a good 1991 dist i was saving for nightmare if i needed it later on, id sell you reasonable. But i still doubt it was leaking in there, probably the main Oring was leaking and you assumed (incorrectly) that it was in the dist leaking. |

It was leaking in there, I've cleaned it... There was a lot of oil in it... The dist cap had oil in it it was making her run rough... It's not leaking on the new external o ring that Glenn sent me that I covered in sticky goo, it's leaking in this seal/bearing inside here that I can't figure out how to get apart.... The parts house guy is blaming my brand new PVC valve saying there shouldn't be enough pressure to shove oil into this tint guy.... |

I realize its "covered" here. http://geometroforum.com/topic/5016443/1/. However there's no details or pics of removing the iner parts... It LOOKs like a ring in there rotates and comes out, pulling shaft bearing seal... But I can't get it to turn.. I've ordered the seal/bearing listed there for my car... |
