Is the check valve installed into the block ? Earlier post this thread indicated it was in the head....???
Does the check valve stick out of the block ? or does it seat into the block below the head gasket level ???
please confirm...thanks.

Yes. From the where the check valve in the picture is in Suzuki Steve's fingers, it was dropped into the block. It sits in the block, slightly below the top of the block. There is no check valve in the head of a Suzuki G10 engine installed in a Geo Metro.

So, what if, for argument sake, lets just say that my oil check valve IS installed properly.....

What else would cause me to use oil, i.e. no oil leaks ?

Seal in gear box (manual transmission) is leaking at the selector shaft.

I dont' see blue smoke out the pipe, I dont' see any.... I have to add a quart every 100 miles, or so. I added some Lucas Oil Stabilizer, seem to have no affect whatsoever on oil consumption. there are NOT any oil leaks, That engine is dry as a bone...

I plan on tearing down the engine and ringing the pistons with new ones, honing, etc.

Rings.

You never did say what your oil consumption was before you repaired the head.

before ? It was not running when I got the car. owner was selling house when I purchased car one year ago. Never mentioned using oil, only the fact that it did not run.

Also, I found a 93 Metro LSi convertible, 3/auto, for sale locally. ran and drove, needs new top, all four doors, rust on undercarriage at solder joint on the chasis at lower right of the door, both sides. wants 350.
