unfortunately.. this little car had a few problems from neglect.. the horn relay was shot. the oil sending unit was shot. the fuel pump was very weak, the temperature sending unit was shot, the fuel sending unit in the tank was shot, the ECT sensor tested bad, the thermostat was removed and the fuel pump relay was bypassed with a gum wrapper. and that is just a start.. but she is pretty much out of trouble now..and will soon be zipping around town.. hopefully with A/C..

well two steps forward and one back.. The A/C was just low on freon to get the compressor to start turning, but the cooling fan was stuck.. (had a stick in it and it was rubbing the cover). The step back comes in the form of the spray adhesive not holding the headliner fabric in place.. it was supposed to only take an hour to set.. but I guess the 24 hours I let it dry still wasn't enough.. and then while pulling the radio trim off the crack in the plastic decided to just totally let go.. so now another trip to the boneyard is in my future.. . this project is finally starting to take shape just as gas prices go up for the "Summer Blend".. Does anyone know if a direct replacement for the radio exists .. It would be nice to have a CD player in there..

What kind of adhesive did you use? I recomend 3m 74 for headliners. Expensive but well worth it. The ONLY way to go. ![]() The only direct replacement is an OEM unit. They are avaliable with CD. I myself would get an aftermarket. With the correct dash kit and wire adapter, it can be seamless. START A PROJECT THREAD ALREADY!

Well another search of the bone yards revealed a great find in the form of a am/fm/cd radio a Delco radio from a Chevrolet tracker.. and the sound is perfect.. I was unable to locate a good radio trim piece to replace the one I had so I got out my harbor freight plastic welder and proceeded to melt the crap out of everything (too hot) .. so I went to my trusty soldering iron out and melted the plastic weld rods on the backside of the trim to put the six pieces back together . (not perfect by any means -but it is usable ). for the headliner replacement re-do, this time I purchased the 3-M super trim adhesive spray.. $21 (pricey but worth it - if it does the job).. not sure I want to try to re-use the material I just installed, so off to the fabric store one more time..
